Apollo-inspired ‘Moon Shot’ Exhibit to Launch at Moody Center (Sept. 21 – Dec 20.)

A recent graduate of the paralegal certification program at the Glasscock School of Continuing Studies at Rice University, Marc Martin undertakes paralegal work at Pipkin Ferguson, PLLC, a Houston law firm. Passionate about art, Marc Martin visits exhibits throughout the greater Houston area.


HOUSTON, TX – Known for its long-standing relationship the American space program, Houston’s own Rice University joins in the continuing nation-wide celebration honoring the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 moon landing. A new art exhibit entitled ‘Moon Shot’ will be unveiled at the Moody Center for the Arts on the campus of Rice University on September 21, 2019 and continue through December 20, 2019.

Unfinished works by Andy Warhol and Robert Rauschenberg’s acclaimed lithographs will pay homage to a moment that changed history forever. The exhibit, which will utilize the entirety of the Moody Center’s gallery spaces, aims to bring the public a comprehensive marriage of audio and visual exhibits by displaying traditional art as well as a virtual reality experience from multimedia artist Laurie Anderson. Works by artists Nancy Graves, Katy Schimert, and Michelle Stuart will also be on display.

A wealth of events honoring the anniversary of the Apollo 11 mission will continue through December, 2019 and will culminate Moody Movie Night, treating the public to outdoor showings of “Interstellar” and “Gravity.”
